FAQ
SKIN CARE
Do I still need to do skincare routine at home if I come for regular facials?
Yes, absolutely. While our professional facials deliver deep cleansing and intensive hydration, a consistent homecare routine is essential to maintain and extend the results between visits. Daily cleansing, proper hydration, and sun protection (SPF) are non-negotiables for healthy, glowing skin.
At Carragheen, we’ll guide you in selecting professional-grade skincare products that complement your treatments and support your skin goals. Explore our range here:
How often should I go for a professional facial?
We recommend visiting every 3–4 weeks, as this aligns with the skin’s natural renewal cycle of 21 days. Regular facials help us address skin concerns more effectively. During your visit, our dedicated therapists will assess your skin and personalise the ideal frequency to suit your needs.
How long does a face treatment take at Carragheen?
Our facial sessions typically last between 90 to 120 minutes, depending on the treatment chosen. Each service is designed to provide you with a thorough and relaxing experience, while addressing your specific skin concerns.

How often should I exfoliate my face?
Exfoliating regularly helps to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and boost your skin’s natural renewal process. Most skin types benefit from gentle exfoliation 1–2 times a week, but the frequency and type of exfoliator should be tailored to your skin’s needs.
Here’s our guide to choosing the right exfoliation routine and products:
- Normal to Combination Skin – Exfoliate 1–2 times weekly to keep skin balanced and refined.
Mint Peeling Mask – deeply cleanses and refreshes.
Detox Enzyme Cleanser – gently exfoliates while purifying pores. - Oily & Congested Skin – Exfoliate 2–3 times weekly to control excess oil and prevent breakouts.
Mint Peeling Mask – clears congestion and impurities.
Resurfacing Peel Pads 10% pH 3 – for targeted resurfacing and pore refinement. - Dehydrated & Fine Skin – Exfoliate once weekly with gentle formulas to smooth and hydrate.
Detox Enzyme Cleanser – mild exfoliation without over-drying.
Ultra Gentle Gommage – polishes delicately and gives a brightening effect. - Mature & Dry Skin – Exfoliate 1–2 times weekly to improve texture and encourage cell renewal.
Mint Peeling Mask – stimulates circulation and smooths rough patches.
Ultra Gentle Gommage – softens and refines without stripping moisture. - Pigmented & Dull Skin – Exfoliate 2–3 times weekly to brighten and even out skin tone.
Mint Peeling Mask – refreshes and revitalises.
Resurfacing Peel Pads 10% pH 3 – targets discolouration and smooths uneven texture. - Sensitive & Hypersensitive Skin
We do not recommend exfoliation for very sensitive or reactive skin, as it may cause irritation. Instead, we suggest focusing on calming and hydrating treatments.
During your facial, our therapists will assess your skin and guide you on the best exfoliation routine to keep your complexion smooth, radiant, and healthy.
How often should I use a face mask?
Using a face mask is a wonderful way to boost your skincare routine—but timing and frequency matter. At Carragheen, we tailor our recommendations to your skin’s unique needs and the type of mask you’re using.
Here’s our expert guidance:
Hydrating & Nourishing Masks (Absolute Mask, SOS Recovery Mask Azulene)
These masks replenish moisture and calm irritation, making them perfect for dry or sensitive skin.
Use 1–2 times a week to maintain hydration and comfort.
Balancing, Oil-Absorbing & Exfoliating Masks (Mint Peeling Mask)
Ideal for oily, congested, or dull skin, these masks help to clear impurities, refine pores, and smooth texture.
Use 1–2 times a week, or up to 2–3 times weekly for oilier skin types, depending on how your skin responds.
Energising or Cream Mask (Cell Defense Mask Q10)
Designed to refresh tired or stressed skin, these masks give an instant boost of vitality and radiance.
Use once a week, or whenever your skin needs a pick-me-up.
Our therapists can help you select the most suitable mask and routine during your facial or consultation, ensuring your skin stays balanced, healthy, and radiant.
If I follow a daily skincare routine, why do I still need facials?
Absolutely! While a consistent daily routine is essential for maintaining healthy skin, professional facials go deeper and deliver benefits that at-home care simply can’t achieve.
Our facials are designed to:
Deeply cleanse and detoxify – removing impurities and buildup that home cleansing may miss.
Boost skin renewal – through professional exfoliation and advanced treatments to reveal fresher, smoother skin.
Target specific concerns – such as acne, pigmentation, dehydration, or sensitivity with customised therapies and technology.
Enhance product absorption – preparing your skin to get the most out of your homecare products.
Provide expert guidance – our therapists will assess your skin and adjust your care plan as your skin’s needs evolve.
Even with a solid skincare routine, we recommend visiting us for a professional facial every 3–4 weeks, in line with your skin’s natural renewal cycle. This keeps your skin at its healthiest and helps prevent issues before they arise.

What types of body waxing treatments do you offer?
At Carragheen, we offer a comprehensive range of body and facial waxing services. Areas include brows, lips, underarm, arms, legs, bikini, Brazilian, back, and facial waxing. Using gentle formula of Superfood Wax for a smooth, gentle, and nourishing experience.
How long does a waxing session usually take?
The duration depends on the area being treated:
• Smaller areas (e.g., brows, underarms, upper lip) take around 10–20 minutes.
• Medium areas (e.g., face, arms, half legs, bikini line) take 30-40 minutes.
Our therapists work efficiently while ensuring your comfort throughout the session.
What is the “Superfood Waxing” treatment and what are its benefits?
Our signature Superfood Waxing combines the benefits of gentle hair removal with skin-nourishing botanical ingredients. Infused with natural antioxidants, vitamins, and soothing plant extracts, this wax helps to:
• Minimise redness and irritation
• Exfoliating and brightening effect
• Hydrate and smooth the skin post-waxing
It’s ideal for customers who want a comfortable, skin-friendly waxing experience with less discomfort and longer-lasting results.
How should I prepare my skin before a waxing appointment?
To achieve the best results, we recommend the following before your waxing session:
• Exfoliate gently 1–2 days before to remove dead skin and prevent ingrown hairs.
• Avoid applying lotions, oils, or creams on the day of your appointment.
• Ensure your hair is at least 0.5cm to 1cm long (around the length of a grain of rice).
• Avoid sun exposure or tanning 24 hours before your appointment.
If you’re currently on any medication or active skincare (e.g., retinoids or acids), please inform your therapist before your session.
What aftercare should I follow after a waxing session?
After waxing, your skin will be more delicate. To ensure a smooth recovery:
• Avoid hot showers, saunas, and swimming for 24 hours.
• Skip gym workouts or heavy sweating to prevent irritation.
• Do not exfoliate or apply perfumed products for 2–3 days.
• Moisturise daily with a gentle, fragrance-free lotion to soothe and protect the skin.
• Exfoliate lightly after 3 days to prevent ingrown hairs.
Can waxing help reduce hair growth over time?
Yes. With regular waxing, hair tends to grow back finer, softer, and slower over time. Because waxing removes hair from the root, the follicle weakens gradually, leading to smoother skin and longer intervals between sessions.
Is waxing suitable for sensitive skin or people with skin conditions?
Yes, our Superfood Wax is formulated for sensitive skin. However, if you have conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, sunburn, or broken skin, waxing may not be suitable. Please inform your therapist during consultation so we can assess your skin and adjust the treatment accordingly.
Can men also book waxing treatments?
At Carragheen, waxing services for men are limited to brow waxing only.
How often should I have wax treatments to maintain smooth skin?
For most customers, waxing every 4 to 6 weeks helps maintain smooth results. The ideal frequency may vary depending on your hair growth cycle, which our therapists can advise during your session.
Who should avoid waxing based on any contraindications or medical conditions?
Yes. You should avoid waxing if you:
• Are taking Accutane, Retin-A, or steroid medication
• Have sunburn, eczema, or inflamed skin in the treatment area
• Have open wounds, active acne, or infections
• Have had recent laser or chemical peel treatments on the area
Please disclose any medical conditions or allergies during consultation so we can ensure your safety and comfort.
Is body waxing painful?
Some discomfort is expected, but our experienced therapists are trained with techniques to minimise pain and calm the skin after treatment.

Who is Fusion Skin Booster most suitable for?
This treatment is ideal for customers experiencing dehydration, pigmentation, uneven tone, dullness, or early signs of aging. It’s also a great option for those seeking needle-free alternatives to aesthetic treatments.
EYELASH
Can I apply eyelash extensions by myself?
No. Eyelash extensions should only be applied by a trained professional. Attempting to apply them yourself can cause eye injury, lash breakage, or unnatural-looking results. Extensions are carefully bonded one by one onto your natural lashes to create a fuller yet natural effect. This is a delicate process that requires precision, safe adhesive handling, and proper training.
At Carragheen, our therapists are professionally trained to ensure your extensions look beautiful, feel comfortable, and protect the health of your natural lashes.
What is the eyelash extension application process like?
At Carragheen, we make sure your eyelash extensions experience is relaxing, safe, and delivers beautifully natural-looking results.
We begin by thoroughly cleansing your eye area and lashes to remove oil, debris, and bacteria, creating a clean base for better lash adhesion. Your lower lashes are then protected with premium collagen eye patches, shielding the delicate skin and providing hydration and anti-wrinkle benefits throughout the session.
The process is painless and relaxing without any discomfort. Relax and take a lash nap while we work lashmagic on you.
Upon completion of eyelash extensions, we apply a glue sealant to prolong the extensions’ longevity by protecting against water and oil contact, while also nourishing your natural lashes for healthier growth and wear.
Do eyelash extensions damage natural lashes?
When applied correctly by trained professionals, eyelash extensions do not damage your natural lashes.
At Carragheen, we use premium lightweight fibres and premium-grade adhesives that are formulated for safety, flexibility, and long-lasting wear. Each extension is matched to the strength of your natural lash to avoid unnecessary stress. With proper aftercare, your lashes remain healthy while you enjoy fuller, longer-lasting results from our LashMagic Extensions.
How long do Carragheen eyelash extensions last?
Eyelash extensions typically last 1 to 2 months, depending on the volume chosen. Natural lash sheds about 1-5 each day. Some extensions that are being applied to lashes during the falling off phase may fall off earlier.
To avoid the healthy growing stages of the lashes, it is ideal to avoid application on ‘baby’ lashes, which may cause premature lash loss.
How long is the process of eyelash extensions?
A full set of eyelash extensions usually takes 60–120 minutes, depending on the volume applied and your desired lash design. Refill sessions will usually take 30–60 minutes, where spoiled lashes will be removed and cleansed before the replacement of extensions to refresh the look.
How much does Carragheen eyelash extensions cost?
At Carragheen, our eyelash extensions pricing is based on the volume.
Price ranges from $85 to $200, with first trial from $59.50 to $140. All prices are nett.
What are the things to consider before booking an eyelash extensions
Pre-Existing Eyelash Extensions
If you are visiting us with existing eyelash extensions from another salon, a removal fee will apply.
Please refer to our removal fee details here
and inform us in advance, so we can allocate sufficient treatment time for your session.
Eye Health Conditions
For the safety and comfort of your eyes, we are unable to proceed with lash services if there are any signs of eye inflammation, redness, or infection.
In such cases, we kindly advise you to reschedule your appointment once your condition has fully recovered.
Recent Lash Lift Treatments
If you have undergone a lash lift within the past six (6) weeks, we do not recommend applying eyelash extensions immediately.
Your natural lashes require time to relax and regain their original shape, as residual curl may affect the final result and lash retention.
Can I get eyelash extensions if I have very sparse lashes?
Technically, yes, we can apply eyelash extensions even if your natural lashes are very sparse. If you’re looking to enhance your lashes for a special occasion or event, we can create the desired volume to give you a fuller, more glamorous look.
However, we do not recommend long-term, continuous application when your natural lashes are already fragile, as this may put extra stress on them. Instead, we suggest exploring our lash enhancement solutions, which are designed to rejuvenate and boost the growth of your natural lashes.
Once your natural lashes have regained length, thickness, and strength, we can revisit eyelash extensions to achieve a beautiful, long-lasting result safely.
If you are looking to encourage new growth, Carragheen offers Lash Regrowth Treatments and nourishing Lash Growth Products to help strengthen and restore your natural lashes before considering extensions.
Who should avoid getting eyelash extensions?
Here are some conditions that require caution or complete avoidance until natural lash health has returned:
Cancer/Chemotherapy: Extensions can only be considered once chemotherapy is completed and lashes begin to regrow. However, if customers wish to proceed during this stage, eyelash extensions will not last as long as normal conditions. To prevent adding stress to the lashes, we will choose lightweight fibres to achieve mild enhancement instead of overly voluminous extensions.
Alopecia: Extensions should only be applied after lash growth has resumed. Until then, the procedure is not suitable.
Trichotillomania: Customers with this condition (the compulsion to pull out lashes or hair) are not good candidates unless they are undergoing effective treatment, as extensions may worsen the urge to pull.
At Carragheen, we will conduct a detailed consultation to ensure extensions are safe, comfortable, and appropriate for your lash health. After eyelash assessment, should we find that your condition is not suitable, we will not proceed with the service.
What are Carragheen’s Eyelash Extensions made of?
Using our in-house brand, LashMagic, our eyelash extensions are crafted to Korean and Japanese standards for the highest quality. Made from premium synthetic fibres, each lash is carefully tapered to a fine tip, mimicking the look and feel of natural lashes.
Often referred to as synthetic mink, these lashes feature a matte finish that blends seamlessly with your own lashes, creating a soft, natural appearance while adding beautiful volume and definition.
What are the benefits of eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions enhance your natural beauty while saving you time in your daily routine. Key benefits include:
Length & Volume – Instantly lengthen and thicken natural lashes for a fuller, more defined look.
Custom Style – Choose from subtle enhancement to dramatic glamour, tailored to your eye shape and preference.
Youthful Appearance – Extensions open up the eyes, making them look brighter, more rested, and rejuvenated.
Makeup-Free Confidence – Extensions eliminate the need for mascara and eyeliner, as the lashes are dark, curled, and thicker at the base. Wake up looking polished without daily makeup.
All-Day Beauty – Unlike mascara, extensions don’t smudge, run, or need reapplication. They look flawless from morning to night.
What type of adhesive does Carragheen use for eyelash extensions?
At Carragheen, we use professional-grade adhesives formulated with cyanoacrylate, the industry standard for safe and long-lasting eyelash extensions. These adhesives are designed to bond securely while remaining flexible, ensuring your extensions feel lightweight and natural.
For your safety, your eyes remain closed throughout the procedure until your stylist advises otherwise. Our therapists are trained to apply extensions with precision, minimising exposure to fumes and ensuring comfort for even sensitive eyes.
Can I get a touch-up for eyelash extensions applied at another salon?
We generally recommend a new full set when moving over from another salon, as lash materials, thickness, and design techniques can differ. This ensures consistency, comfort, and the best results with our LashMagic Extensions.
If you prefer a touch-up, our therapists can assess your existing lashes first. Please note that the finish may look slightly different due to variations in lash quality and application style. For the most seamless and long-lasting results, starting fresh with a Carragheen set is often the better option.
Can I still use an eyelash curler with extensions?
We do not advise mechanical curlers as this can damage both extensions and your natural lashes. Our extensions come in various curls that already provide the desired curl.
What are the aftercare for eyelash extensions?
• Avoid excessive water contact for 24hours (E.g. Swimming, water sports)
• Avoid excess heat treatment (E.g. steambath, sauna)
• Avoid tugging lashes at anytime
• Do comb after each wash to keep the lashes in position
What aftercare products should I use with extensions?
Here’s our guide to eyelash extensions aftercare to protect, prevent and prolong it.
• Keeping your lashes clean prevents dirt trapping along the lash line, which might cause bacterial infection. Lash shampoo and cleansing lotion will helps to remove excess oil, dirt and makeup products. Carefully use these cleanser with microswabs as this fibres will not pull and tug eyelash extensions during cleansing process.
• Perfect coating gel can be applied lightly to the base of the extensions 2 to 3 times a week to secure the extensions’ glue. This step helps to prolong eyelash extensions longevity.
• Protect and grow natural lashes while having eyelash extensions is possible! Apply lash protein serum, clinically proven for healthy lash growth. Simply apply lightly on the root after cleansing, 2 to 3 times times a week to ensure strong healthy lashes with extensions.
Tips: Comb eyelash extensions after cleansing to keep them neat in shape.
Are eyelash extensions suitable for sensitive eyes or allergies?
We will need to assess your sensitivity during consultation. Customers may opt for a 48 hours patch test before application to ensure safety.
LASH LIFT & TINT
What is a Glueless Keratin Lash Lift and Tint?
Glueless Keratin Lash Lift is a gentle, advanced version of the traditional lash lift. Instead of using strong fixing gel to adhere lashes onto silicone rods, we use a vegetable-based balm, which is kinder to your lashes and reduces the risk of damage from over pulling during the lift process.
After lifting, lashes are enhanced with tint to darken lashes making it look thicker. Lastly, a keratin leave-in treatment will be applied to nourish lashes.
For more nourishing treatment, customers may opt for lash filler service, which is an intensive treatment care to moisturise, strengthen, thicken and prolong the curling effect.
Is Lash Lift Muslim Friendly?
Yes. A lash lift simply reshapes your natural lashes, similar to how a hair perm works. No chemical residue remains on the lashes once the treatment is complete. This makes the procedure suitable and popular among Muslim customers who want to enhance their natural beauty in a safe, comfortable way.
What is the difference between a lash lift and a lash filler?
Lash Lift with Tint enhances your natural lashes by curling and tinting them for a more defined, eye-opening look. The treatment is completed with a leave-in keratin conditioner, which helps to protect and maintain lash health after the lifting process.
• Results typically last about 1 month, making it ideal for a quick enhancement.
A Lash Filler goes a step further. Following the lash lift and tint, we apply a two-step lash treatment mask to deeply moisturise, strengthen, and restore elasticity to your lashes after the chemical process. This not only prolongs the lifted curl but also nourishes the lashes, promoting natural lash growth, length, volume, and thickness over time.
• Results can last over 2 months, giving you longer-lasting lift and lash health benefits.
What is the difference between a lash lift and a lash perm?
A lash lift is the modern, safer alternative to the older lash perm.
Lash Lift: Uses smooth silicone shields in different shapes to create customised lift effects, ensuring each lash is styled evenly for a natural curve. The process is gentler, with less risk of irritation, and offers more flexibility in curl styles.
Lash Perm: Used nylon rods with adhesive stickers, which could cause discomfort or skin sensitivity. It only produced one type of rounded curl and has largely been phased out of the beauty industry.
When can I have my next lash lift?
As lash lift involves chemical processing, it’s best to wait at least 6 weeks before your next session. Most customers return around the 7th or 8th week, which aligns with the natural lash growth cycle. This ensures your lashes remain healthy and strong while maintaining a beautifully lifted look.
For lasting results, Carragheen’s Lash Lift & Tint can also be paired with nourishing keratin or lash filler treatments to condition your lashes between appointments.
Is a lash lift safe for sensitive eyes and during pregnancy?
Yes. We use gentle vegetable lash balm and solutions which does not contact the skin. However, please inform our therapists for extra attention.
Can I wear mascara after a lash lift and tint?
Yes, you can wear mascara, although many clients find it unnecessary since their lashes already look darker, lifted, and more defined.
To protect the results, avoid applying mascara during the first 24 hours after your treatment, as this is when the curl is setting and mascara may affect its durability.
For ongoing care, we recommend using our Lash Protein Serum to nourish and strengthen your lashes, keeping them healthy and helping the curl stay in shape, especially after using makeup remover.
What should I avoid in the first 24 hours after a lash lift?
To protect your newly lifted lashes and ensure long-lasting results, avoid:
Eye cover and mask – prevent pressing on lashes causing change of curl direction.
Mascara or eye makeup – let the curl fully set before applying any products.
Rubbing or touching your eyes – prevents accidental lash damage or curl disruption.
Sleeping face-down – reduces pressure on the lashes while they set in place.
What are the aftercare for Lash Lift & Lash Filler
• Avoid excessive water contact
• Avoid mascara
• Avoid heat treatment
• Avoid rubbing the eyes
• Avoid facial and massages
Can I combine a lash lift follow by eyelash extensions?
We do not recommend combining a lash lift and eyelash extensions in the same session. A lash lift involves a chemical process that curls and sets your natural lashes, which can make them too delicate to safely support extensions immediately.
We suggest waiting at least 6–8 weeks after a lash lift before applying extensions. This allows your natural lashes to grow out and regain strength.
LASH & BROW REGROWTH
What treatment should I get if I have sparse lashes?
Carragheen offers Nano Lash Regrowth which is an advanced, non-invasive treatment that revitalises natural lash growth at the root. Using nano‑stimulation technology, growth‑boosting nutrients are gently infused into the lash follicles. Most customers see visible improvements within 15 to 30 days, with stronger, longer, and fuller lashes.
How quickly will I see results?
Many customers start noticing initial regrowth and improved lash strength within 2 weeks. Full results typically emerge between 3 to 4 weeks, with continued benefits in fullness and thickness thereafter.
What benefits can I expect from the treatment?
Nano Lash Regrowth strengthens lashes, stimulates growth, thickens lash texture, and enhances length, all with just one session. Results become visible in just 15 days, with progressive improvements over time.
How many sessions are recommended for best results?
For noticeable transformation, a series of 3–6 sessions, spaced 2–4 weeks apart, is recommended depending on your lash condition. This helps maximise growth while aligning with the natural lash cycle.
How long do results last?
Results can last for at least 6 months, as long as you maintain proper aftercare and respect the lash growth cycle. Periodic boost sessions help sustain fullness and vitality.
How does Nano Lash Regrowth differ from lash serums?
Unlike serums that sit on the surface, Nano Lash Regrowth infuses nutrients directly into the follicles for long-lasting impact. Aftercare serums can help sustain the results once the treatment course is completed.
Is the treatment painful?
No, the treatment is painless and non-invasive. It involves nano-stimulation and infusion at the lash root, and customers can resume normal activities immediately after the session.
What should I avoid after Nano Lash Regrowth?
To ensure the best results and protect your newly treated lashes, avoid the following for the first 24–48 hours after your session:
• Rubbing or touching your eyes to prevents irritation
• Makeup, especially mascara or eyeliner, keeping the area clean and reduces the risk of infection or irritation.
Is there any aftercare required after a Nano Lash Regrowth treatment?
Yes, to maximise the benefits of Nano Lash Regrowth treatment, we advise cusotmer to continue nourishing and support lash growth by applying our Lash Protein Serum.
BROW HENNA
What is Brow Henna?
Brow Henna is a plant-based dye derived from the Lawsonia plant, designed to stain both the skin beneath the brows and the brow hairs. The natural powder is blended with a hyaluronic gel base to hydrate skin and hair, and effectively tint the brows.
How long does Brow Henna last?
Brow Henna typically lasts up to 2 weeks on the skin (giving a filled-in effect) and 4 weeks on the brow hairs. The longevity varies depending on your skin type, aftercare, and lifestyle factors such as sweating, sun exposure, and use of exfoliating products.
How long does a Brow Henna session takes?
Brow Henna is a detailed, precision process that involves carefully layering and staining the skin to create depth and definition, while crafting a brow shape that perfectly complements your features.
The session includes Brow Architecture mapping to design the ideal shape, followed by hair removal for a clean, polished finish. With these steps combined, the full procedure typically takes around 1 hour, leaving you with beautifully defined, natural-looking brows.
What is the difference between Brow Henna and Brow Tinting?
The key difference lies in where the colour sits and how long it lasts.
Brow Henna: A natural, plant-based dye that stains both the skin and brow hairs, creating a filled-in, makeup-like effect. It typically lasts 2 weeks on the skin and up to 4 weeks on the hairs, making it ideal for customers who want a more defined, long-lasting result on skin.
Brow Tinting: A chemical-based tint that focus on colouring the brow hairs and stain the skin mildly. It typically lasts 6 weeks on the brow hair and up to 7 days on the skin. The effect is softer and faster application time compared to henna.
Where does Carragheen’s Brow Henna product come from?
At Carragheen, we use the internationally renowned BrowXenna®, a premium Russian brand and the world’s first professional eyebrow henna line. BrowXenna® has been trusted globally for over 10 years for its stable pigments, safe formulas, and long-lasting results.
In addition to offering BrowXenna® Henna treatments, Carragheen is also the official distributor and training academy in Singapore, providing professional courses and certification for beauty specialists.
Is Brow Henna safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. BrowXenna® Henna is made from natural plant-based ingredients and is generally safe for sensitive skin. However, if you have a history of allergies, we recommend a patch test before your first treatment.
Can Brow Henna be customised to match my hair colour?
Absolutely. BrowXenna® offers a wide range of shades, from light blondes to deep brunettes. Our therapists blend colours to achieve a customised tone that complements your hair and skin tone perfectly.
What aftercare should I follow after a Brow Henna treatment?
To maximise the longevity of your results, avoid oil-based cleansers, exfoliation around the brow area, and excessive sweating for the first 24 hours.
How is Brow Henna different from semi-permanent eyebrow makeup?
Brow Henna is a temporary, non-invasive treatment that stains the skin and hairs without breaking the skin. Semi-permanent eyebrow makeup, such as Nano Pixel Brows, involves pigment deposit on the skin surface, lasting 1–2 years. Brow Henna is ideal for customers who want to test out a brow shape or colour before committing to semi-permanent eyebrows.
Who is Brow Henna most suitable for?
Brow Henna is perfect for customers with sparse, light, or uneven brows who want a natural but defined look without daily makeup. It’s also a great choice for those with sensitive skin who may not be able to undergo tinting or permanent brow treatments.
Can I combine Brow Henna with other brow services?
We do not recommend combining Brow Henna with other brow or facial treatments after Brow Henna is being delivered. Brow Henna uses temporary pigment powder to stain the skin and define your brows.
Once the colour is set, any treatment performed after Brow Henna, such as facials, masks, or other brow services, may disrupt the pigment and cause it to fade prematurely.
Plan other services before your Brow Henna service.
Can I do Brow Lamination with Brow Henna?
Some salons may offer Brow Lamination followed by Brow Henna to achieve fuller, lifted brows with added colour definition. While this may sound appealing, at Carragheen, we prioritise your safety and the long-term health of your brows.
Brow Lamination is a chemical process with a high alkaline level (pH 9) that breaks down the bonds in brow hairs, allowing them to be reshaped. This process can temporarily dry out both the hair and the surrounding skin.
Applying Brow Henna immediately after lamination or within 1.5 months can further dry the hair, causing hair breakage, and increase the risk of irritation or allergic reactions.
For these reasons, we do not recommend combining Brow Lamination with Brow Henna. Instead, we suggest spacing the treatments appropriately to protect the integrity of your brow hairs and skin, ensuring healthy, beautiful results over time.
Can I do Nano Pixel Brows after Brow Henna if I am satisfied with the effect?
We do not recommend doing Nano Pixel Brows immediately after a Brow Henna treatment, even if you love the effect and want to ensure the shape and colour are replicated.
Brow Henna uses pigment to stain the skin’s surface, which can interfere with how the semi-permanent pigment from Nano Pixel Brows settles, potentially leading to uneven colour retention. Since Nano Pixel Brows involve breaking the skin barrier, performing the procedure too soon after Brow Henna also increases the risk of irritation, infection, and sensitivity.
For the best and safest results, we recommend:
• Waiting at least 2 weeks after Brow Henna before having Nano Pixel Brows.
• Allowing the skin to fully heal and return to its natural state, so the semi-permanent pigment can be absorbed evenly and last beautifully.
This waiting period helps ensure a smooth, consistent result while protecting the health and integrity of your skin.
BROW TINTING
What is Brow Tinting?
Brow Tinting is a treatment that uses cream-based pigments to darken and define your natural brows. The formula works with advanced colouring technology to coat each brow hair evenly, enhancing colour depth and giving brows a fuller appearance.
Unlike Brow Henna, which also stains the skin, Brow Tint focuses mainly on dyeing the brow hairs, making it ideal for customers with brow hair volume, wanting to enhance the shade of brow hair. At Carragheen, Brow Tinting is often combined with Brow Architecture to refine shape and create brows tailored to your features.
Are there any side effects of Brow Tinting?
Brow Tinting is generally safe and well-tolerated when performed under normal conditions. However, it may not be suitable for customers with allergies to tinting ingredients, eczema, skin inflammations, or hypersensitive skin. If you are feeling unwell, it is also best to postpone the treatment.
How long does Brow Tinting last?
Brow Tint typically lasts up to 6 weeks on the brow hairs, giving them a darker, more defined appearance. The tint may also lightly stain the skin beneath the brows, but this effect is softer and usually fades within a week.
Brow Tinting is best suited for clients who already have a good amount of natural brow hair and want to enhance or adjust their brow colour.
At Carragheen, our brow tinting services can be customised to achieve a range of effects:
On/Off skin tint – choose whether you’d like the skin beneath the brows to be tinted or left natural.
Lightening – soften and tone down brows that are naturally very dark.
Hair colour matching – customise brow shade for a harmonious look that complements your hair colour.
Darkening brows – cover grey hairs and add depth for a more youthful, defined brow shape.
For clients with sparse brows, we may recommend Brow Henna as a longer-lasting option, as it provides both colour and a fuller appearance by staining the skin for added definition.
How long does a Brow Tinting treatment take?
The Brow Tinting application itself takes about 15 minutes. At Carragheen, we combine it with our Brow Architecture service, which includes customised brow mapping to suit your facial features and precise hair removal to refine the shape. With these steps, the full appointment usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour, leaving you with brows that are defined, polished, and perfectly tailored to your look.
What is the difference between Brow Tinting and Brow Henna?
The key difference lies in where the colour sits and how long it lasts.
Brow Tinting: A chemical-based tint that focus on colouring the brow hairs and stain the skin mildly. It typically lasts 6 weeks on the brow hair and up to 7 days on the skin. The effect is softer and faster application time compared to henna.
What products are used for Brow Tinting at Carragheen?
At Carragheen, we use the BrowXenna® Oxygen J2 Smart Coloring System, a next-generation tint that not only colours the brow hairs but also treats and nourishes them at the same time. Its care complex includes silk, oats, keratin, betaine, panthenol, and urea, which strengthen and hydrate the hairs while delivering a soft, natural finish with a healthy glow.
Unlike conventional tints, this is a gentler formula with long-lasting results, making it safe even for customers with delicate brow hair. As the official distributor and training academy for BrowXenna® in Singapore, Carragheen also provides professional Brow Courses for beauty specialists.
Is Brow Tinting safe for sensitive skin?
Yes, BrowXenna® J2 Smart Tint is formulated with nourishing ingredients like silk, oats, and keratin, making it gentler than traditional tints. However, we recommend a patch test if you have a history of allergies or very sensitive skin.
Can Brow Tinting be customised to match my hair colour?
AAbsolutely. Brow Tinting offers a wide range of shades, from light blondes to deep brunettes. Our therapists blend colours to achieve a customised tone that complements your hair and skin tone perfectly.
What should I avoid after Brow Tinting?
For best results, avoid oil-based cleansers, swimming, or excessive sweating in the first 24 hours. Over time, avoid harsh exfoliation around the brows to prolong colour retention.
Who is Brow Tinting most suitable for?
Brow Tinting is ideal for customers who already have a good amount of brow hair and simply want to enhance colour depth and definition. If you have sparse brows or gaps, Brow Henna may be a better choice, as it stains the skin for a filled-in effect.
Can I combine Brow Tinting with other brow services?
Yes! A popular combination is Brow Lamination with Brow Tinting, which creates a fuller, more voluminous, and defined look.
The lamination lifts and sets the brow hairs in place, while the tint adds colour and depth, giving your brows a polished and long-lasting finish.
Our therapists will assess your brow condition and recommend the best treatment pairing to achieve your desired look while maintaining the health of your natural brows.
BROWS LAMINATION
What is Brow Lamination?
Brow Lamination, also known as a Brow Lift, is a semi-permanent treatment that restructures and smooths brow hairs, making them appear fuller, straighter, and easier to style. It is especially effective for taming droopy, curly, or unruly brows, giving your face a more lifted and polished look.
The results last up to 6 weeks, allowing you to style your brows effortlessly by simply brushing them into place and there is no need for daily brow gel. At Carragheen, our Brow Lamination service also includes shaping to ensure your brows perfectly complement your features.
Is Brow Lamination safe?
Brow Lamination is generally safe when performed by trained professionals using high-quality products. At Carragheen, we take every precaution to ensure the process is both effective and gentle on your skin and brows.
However, it may not be suitable for cutomers who have:
• Allergies to cosmetic ingredients
• Eczema or active skin inflammations
• Extremely sensitive or hypersensitive skin
If your skin shows any signs of reaction during the treatment, our therapists will carefully assess the situation. Depending on the severity, we may stop the procedure immediately or take steps to calm and soothe the skin after the session.
Can Brow Lamination be combined with other brow service?
Yes, Brow Lamination pairs beautifully with Brow Tinting. While laminate brows smooths, lifts, and sets the brow hairs in place, tint adds colour and definition for a polished, 24/7 makeup-ready look.
If you opt for an add-on tint, please allow an extra 15–20 minutes for your appointment. This combination is highly recommended for customers who want fuller, well-groomed brows that look perfectly styled at all times.
How long does Brow Lamination last?
Similarly to any other chemical-based treatment, the results of Brow Lamination typically last up to 6 weeks, depending on your natural hair growth cycle and aftercare routine. To maintain the smooth, lifted effect, we recommend gentle daily brushing and prolong the lifted effects by applying brow care products.
How long does a Brow Lamination treatment take?
Our Brow Lamination treatment takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour as it includes brow achictecture, and brow waxing to ensure you have a nicely shaped brows.
Difference between Brow Lamination vs Brow Henna vs Brow Tinting?

NANO PIXEL BROWS
What is Nano Pixel Brows?

The result is natural-looking, 24/7 brows that mimic the effect of perfectly applied brow makeup, giving you beautifully enhanced brows without the need for daily filling or shading.
How is Nano Pixel Brows different from Eyebrow Embroidery and Microblading?
Nano Pixel Brows
• Technique – Uses a digital machine with an ultra-fine needle to gently shade pigment onto the superficial layer of the skin, creating a soft, pixelated effect.
• Result – Natural-looking immediately after treatment, like a brow makeover — not blotchy or overly bold. Produces a powdered makeup look that is well-blended and ideal for a 24/7 makeup-ready brow. As the colour fades over time, it does so evenly without leaving unwanted undertones such as orange, grey, or green.
• Skin healing and impact – Minimal trauma to the skin, no downtime, no pain, faster healing, and lower risk of scarring or pigment migration.
Eyebrow Embroidery
• Technique – Performed with a handheld tool and blade with multiple needles to create a pixelated shading effect.
• Result – Creates a brow makeup effect. Colours that fade over time can leave undertones of orange, grey, or green if too much pressure is applied during the procedure.
• Skin healing and impact – Slightly more invasive; more healing time with some scabbing. Looks more bold after procedure.
Microblading
• Technique – Similar to embroidery which uses handheld tool and blades with multiple needles to create strokes in different thickness to mimic hair like effects, implanting pigment deeper than embroidery.
• Result – Provides a very precise hair-like appearance filling gaps between brows. When colours fade over time, pigment from hair strokes break up and similiarly to embroidery, pigment undertones may leave undesired colours.
• Skin healing and impact – similiar with eyebrow embroidery.
How long do Nano Pixel Brows last?
Nano Pixel Brows typically last 15 to 24 months. Colour depth can be customised according to customer preference.
Is the Nano procedure painful?
Most customers describe Nano brows as comfortable, besides numbing creams being used before procedure, it is non-invasive. Some may feel light pressure and tingling sensation.
What does the healing process look like?
There is minimal downtime, no redness and almost no scabbing for most cases. Pigment appears darker the next few days but softens into a natural look during healing.
What are the aftercare for Nano Pixel Brows?
Aftercare for Nano Pixel Brows:
• Keep the brow area dry for the first 5 hours. Avoid hot water, steam, sweat, pools, saunas, or washing directly over the brows.
• Use gentle cleanser during face wash (no acids, scrubs or exfoliants)
• Do not pick, scratch, rub or peel scabs (if any); allow any flaking or dryness to resolve naturally to avoid pigment loss or scarring.
• Avoid applying brow makeup, brow products, or other skincare (especially those with alcohol, fragrances, acids, retinols) on or near the brow area until healing is complete.
• Stay away from direct sunlight, tanning beds, or strong UV exposure. Use a hat for protection after full healing.
• Avoid intense workouts, sweating, facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion or Botox near the brow area for at least 10–14 days.
• Sleep on your back and avoid pressing your face into pillows or fabrics that could disturb the brows.
Once healed, return for touch-up appointment (typically 4–6 weeks later) to perfect colour and shape.
Will I need a touch-up?
Yes, a touch-up session 4–6 weeks after the procedure ensures perfect brows after healing. Afterward, annual refreshers (every 6–12 months) help maintain the shape and pigment.
Who are unsuitable for Nano Pixel Brows?
While Nano Pixel Brows are safe for many, there are certain conditions and situations in which we cannot proceed or would require a doctor’s clearance.
These include:
• Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding — hormonal fluctuations and immune changes can affect healing
• Active skin conditions or irritations in the brow area (e.g. eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, severe acne, open wounds)
• Allergies or sensitivities to pigments, metals, numbing agents, or other cosmetic ingredients
• History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring — risk of raised or uneven scarring
• Use of Accutane / isotretinoin within the past 12 months — skin may be too fragile
• Bleeding or clotting disorders or use of strong blood-thinning medications — may affect healing and pigment retention
• Autoimmune diseases or compromised immune systems — may impair proper healing
• Cancer patients currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy — skin and immune system may be highly sensitive and unable to heal properly
• Uncontrolled diabetes or blood sugar instability — may slow healing or increase infection risk
• Use of retinoids, corticosteroids, or other skin-thinning medications in the brow area within a short timeframe
• Underage customers (typically under 18 years old) without parental consent
• Recent cosmetic procedures close to the brow area (e.g. laser treatments, chemical peels, heavy exfoliation) — skin may not have fully recovered

HEALTH CONCERNS
If I have hypersensitive skin or an allergic skin condition, can I still receive treatments at Carragheen?
Your safety and comfort are our priority. If you have hypersensitive skin or an allergic condition, please inform your therapist about your triggers so we can recommend suitable treatments and products.
Facial Treatments: We will select gentle, soothing facials designed to calm and strengthen sensitive skin, helping to build skin resilience over time.
Eyelash Extensions: Not recommended, as adhesive may cause irritation. Despite marketing claims, there are no true “medical-grade” adhesives available.
INDIBA Body Treatments: Not suitable if you have eczema or very dry, compromised skin on the treatment area.
Brow Henna & Brow Lamination: Both are contraindicated for hypersensitive or eczema-prone skin due to potential irritation.
At Carragheen, we will always advise against treatments that may compromise your skin health. Instead, our consultants will guide you to safe alternatives that suit your condition.
Are there any medical or health conditions I should highlight before receiving treatment?
Yes. At Carragheen, your safety always comes first. Please inform your therapist during consultation if you have any medical conditions, injuries, or are taking medications so we can recommend the most suitable treatment for you.
Some important considerations include:
Allergens: Let us know the ingredients you may react to.
Medical Implants: Devices or implants (e.g., pacemakers, metal implants) are contraindicated for machine-based treatments.
Diabetes: Chemical-based products and heat treatments are not recommended.
High Blood Pressure: Gentle massage is suitable, but heat treatments should be avoided.
Claustrophobia: If you feel uncomfortable in enclosed rooms, with dim lighting, or eye covering, please inform us so we can adjust your treatment.
Cancer: Treatments are contraindicated unless a doctor’s note is provided.
Injuries: Treatments are not suitable if you have skin, muscle, or bone damage in or near the treatment area.
Flu or Fever: Please rest at home until fully recovered, as these are considered infectious.
Skin Disorders / Diseases: A doctor’s note is required; otherwise, treatments may be contraindicated.
Medications: Blood thinners or medications that cause extreme skin dryness must be highlighted to your therapist.
By sharing this information upfront, our consultants can ensure your treatment is safe, effective, and tailored to your needs.
Can I receive facial, body, eyelash, and brow treatments if I am pregnant?
Yes, many treatments are suitable during pregnancy, but some require extra care or may not be recommended. Please always inform your therapist if you are pregnant so we can adjust your treatment for your safety and comfort.
Facial Treatments: Safe when customised. Our therapists will use gentle, pregnancy-safe products and adapt your positioning to ensure comfort throughout your facial.
Eyelash Extensions: We use premium, formaldehyde-free adhesives, making the procedure generally safe. However, due to hormonal changes, some customers may experience increased sensitivity or reduced lash retention. We recommend checking with your gynaecologist before booking.
INDIBA Body Treatments: Not recommended during pregnancy, as radiofrequency and heat treatments are contraindicated.
Brow Henna: Safe, as it is plant-based. However, hormonal changes may affect pigment absorption, so results may be lighter or fade faster than usual.
Brow Lamination (Brow Lift): Generally safe, as it is an external application with minimal skin contact. Exceptions may apply if you have very dry or sensitive skin.
At Carragheen, your well-being comes first. Our consultants will recommend only the treatments that are safe and suitable for you during pregnancy.
Can I receive treatments if I am breastfeeding?
Yes, our treatments are safe for breastfeeding mothers, as they are non-invasive and focus on skin care, relaxation, and natural rejuvenation.
Can I undergo treatments if I have recently had Botox, fillers, or laser procedures?
Yes, but the timing and type of treatment must be carefully considered to ensure safety and the best results.
After Botox or Fillers:
We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before undergoing any facial treatments. This allows the injectables to fully settle and prevents any interference with their placement or effectiveness.
After Laser Treatments or Chemical Peels:
The skin is typically more sensitive and reactive after these procedures. We advise waiting 3 to 4 weeks or until the skin has completely healed before resuming facials or aesthetic treatments.
If you’ve recently had any of these procedures, please inform our therapists during consultation. We will assess your skin condition and recommend safe, complementary treatments that promote healing and enhance your overall results without compromising previous procedures.
Is it safe to do treatments if I am on medication?
It depends on the type of medication you are currently taking. Certain medications can increase skin sensitivity, affect healing, or cause adverse reactions when combined with active ingredients or machine-based treatments.
Please inform our therapists of any medication or recent medical treatments during your consultation. This includes both oral and topical prescriptions such as:
• Accutane / isotretinoin or acne medications
• Retinoids or steroid creams
• Antibiotics or anti-histamines
• Blood thinners or heart medications
Our team will carefully review your condition and recommend the most suitable and safe treatments for you. If needed, we may advise postponing or modifying certain procedures until your medication course is completed.
Your safety and skin health are always our top priority.
Can I receive treatments if I have active acne or open wounds?
This depends on the area and type of treatment:
Facials:
Yes, we can safely proceed with customised facials designed to soothe, calm, and heal active acne. Our therapists will adjust the treatment to reduce inflammation without aggravating the skin.
Body Treatments:
For open wounds or broken skin, treatment cannot be performed until the area has fully healed. If only a small area is affected, we will cover and protect it with a waterproof film and avoid working too close to it.
Lash and Brow Treatments:
We do not recommend proceeding if there are any irritations, infections, or cuts near the eye or brow area, as this may cause discomfort or further sensitivity.
Your safety and comfort are always our priority. Our therapists will assess your skin condition during consultation and recommend the most appropriate and gentle approach.
Are treatments suitable for customers with heart conditions or pacemakers?
For customers with pacemakers or other implanted medical devices, certain machine-based treatments that use electro currents, such as INDIBA® and Electroporation, are contraindicated and cannot be performed.
However, other treatments and technologies that do not transmit electric currents through the body are considered safe to proceed.
To ensure your safety, please inform our therapists of any heart conditions or medical devices during your consultation. This allows us to customise your treatment plan accordingly and recommend the most suitable and safe options for your needs.
Can I do treatments if I am recovering from surgery?
Machine-based or massage treatments near the surgical area are not recommended until you are fully healed and cleared by your doctor. For other areas, treatments may still be possible and our therapists will adjust protocols to keep you safe.
